What We Want to See - The Lighter Side of MLS Week 3

Every week, we'll be posting a few things we're looking forward to during the weekend of MLS play.  But, it's not going to be stuff that everybody else is looking for.  We hope to see something special.

The Goonies Will Actually Say "Die"

After a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday night to Toluca in the Concacaf Champions League, the San Jose Earthquakes will go to Kansas City to face an equally heartbroken Sporting side.  I'd love to see Sporting go up a few goals early then Steven Lenhart and Alan Gordon start tearing off their jerseys,
yelling "DIE! DIE! DIE!" to Benny Feilhaber, Graham Zusi and the rest of the zombie Wizards.  The ensuing bloodbath would be a wonderful visual metaphor for MLS' total destruction in CCL play this year.

Toronto Invokes Mercy Rule on DC United

Toronto has been so unfortunate for so many years.  Terrible managers, constantly missing the playoffs, front office turmoil, and constantly giving away future league MVPs.  Now, it seems, they've finally righted the ship and are beginning to move forward.

I'd love to see those home fans rewarded with an unprecidented outpouring of goals on what may be the worst team in the league, DC United.  Nothing against DC, it would just be nice for those poor Toronto fans to have something to be optimistic about.  12-0 would be enough.

Chivas USA Beats Dallas, Creates League's Strangest Bandwagon

With all of the upcoming changes happening at Chivas USA, there is a bit of optimism already sprining up around the "other" LA club.  After 4 points from 2 games, people are starting to pay attention to them for the right reasons (on-field action as opposed to off-field).

I'd love to see Chivas USA throttle Dallas on the road and then watch all of the "experts" hop on the bandwagon only to see their inevitable demise after just a few more games.

Honestly, though, I hope they have a good year.  The guys on the team deserve it and so do those 37 loyal fans.
